"We were planning a long trip by car and the only one we had available had split rear seats..not a comforatable ride for our dog. We bought the dog hammock which attaches to the front and rear seat headrests and prevents the dog from falling into the space in front of the rear seats. We then put a baby crib mnattress in the hammock (which held it perfectly) and we had a great, comfy bed for the dog to ride in! If you have a full rear seat the mattress would likely not be necessary. This hammock is sturdy and well-made and "did the trick" for this trip. It's folded up in the trunk, ready for the next one. Excellent price through Amazon.com. "
