I definitely recommend this gate. It is a little bit more expensive than the plastic ones but worth the money. We have one at the top and bottom of our steps. It is extremely sturdy, easy to install and looks nice. Our little boy pulls himself up on it all the time and it doesn't move. I have it at the top of the stairs and have no doubt it will keep my bay away from the steps. "
