"I purchased this to try and deter my cats away from the furniture. It has been very successful. They never used the old small cat scratcher I had but they have been using this one from the get go. I rubbed catnip on it to attract them to it and they've used it ever since. It is very sturdy, even my big strong male cat cannot knock it over. I am very pleased with this purchase.
